ACCR (Ayurvedic Center for Collaborative Research) is an NIH planning grant project to identify and promote an International center for Research in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (ICRC). This grant is funded by the National Institutes of Health, US and supports collaboration between the University of Washington and The Ayurvedic Trust. The ACCR aims to establish long term collaboration and relationship between Ayurvedic researchers at AVT and eminent scientists and researchers at leading medical schools and universities in the US. In the course of the implementation of the ACCR project, the lab facilities to test quality and standards of Ayurvedic medicines will be upgraded and an information technology backbone established to efficiently handle data generated in the course of research. During the project period a pilot study on the efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment in management of rheumatoid arthritis will also be conducted.
